A 38-year-old mother of two married a Jamaican teen half her age after talking to him on Skype and Blackberry Messenger.
Angharad Lovering, from South Wales, flew all the way to the Caribbean for a three-week vacation to finally meet her 19-year-old boy-toy, Loric Bullock.
Looking back, Lovering says she knew they were “meant to be” after she returned home and discovered she was pregnant.
After finding out the good news, Bullock finally proposed to his new girlfriend romantically via text, and she took out a nearly $5,000 loan to pay for her fiancé’s temporary British visa.
In October 2013, Lovering gave birth to their son, Tyrese, while Dad comforted her on the phone—5,000 miles away.
It wasn’t until March 2014, when Tyrese was already 5-months-old, that Bullock finally got his visa and flew to the UK to meet his son for the first time—and his bride-to-be for the second.
The happy couple finally tied the knot last May, and despite the age gap and bizarre courtship, Lovering swears they’re the “real deal.”
One of the greatest problems they’ve had when going out as a family is that strangers often mistake Bullock for Lovering’s 15-year-old daughter’s boyfriend.
“I don't look as old as I am and I certainly don't dress my age because I don't want to look my age. I don't have wrinkles so I'm lucky,” Lovering said. “But Loric has a baby face. A couple of people have said to my daughter, ‘Is that your boyfriend?’ and she has to say, ‘No, it's my stepfather.’”
Although they’ve been married for more than a year now, Lovering says she and her husband are still trying to get to know each other.
“It's been a tough time, but I'm finally getting to know the husband I met on Skype,” she said.
