A brother’s love for his sister, who was born with a rare disorder, is touching and inspiring, especially given their young age.
Lindsay Cochran, 10, was born with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and has been in a wheelchair since she was 2 years old. Her 12-year-old brother, Trenton, has remained by her side, providing her with love, friendship, and support, all along. Not only is Trenton a helper to and protector of his sister, he is also an advocate and ambassador for kids with disabilities, noting how different his life would be without Lindsay.
"She is one of the center priorities of my life,” Trenton says in the emotional video below. “I would take a bullet for her.” His strong feelings for Lindsay and their bond brings him to tears at one point.
“It’s easier for me to go through my life with my brother,” said Lindsay.
Last year, the brother-sister duo’s extraordinary relationship won them the Unsung Hero Award at K-LOVE, a radio show dedicated to sharing positive and encouraging stories.
