While Derick Dillard spends plenty of his free time on Twitter bashing others, fans suspect he may be dealing with a guilty conscience of his own.
The Counting On star, who has been married to Jill Duggar for three years, often uses Twitter to advocate for his political and religious beliefs.
Most recently, Derick was slammed by fans after he attacked I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings, unprovoked, simply for being transgender.
The shocking assault on the teenager’s character came over the summer, when TLC, which features both I Am Jazz and Counting On, promoted Jazz’s show on Twitter.
"What an oxymoron... a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality. 'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God," Derick fired off in an angry tweet.
While many fans urged Derick to apologize for his behavior, he instead doubled down on his claims in a patronizing tweet.
"I have nothing against him," Derick said of Jazz, using male pronouns for the teenage girl, adding that "gender is ordained by God.”
At the time, Duggar insiders confessed that the family was starting to get worried that Derick’s uncontrollable behavior might cost them their show.
"They're probably not too long for TLC. My feeling is that they'll probably get axed soon because of this Jazz situation," a source revealed at the time. "He opened up a can of worms that he never, ever, ever should've cracked a lid on."
Now, just a few months later, Derick is back in the headlines after firing off a slew of confusing tweets that sound a bit like a confession.
“He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself," Derick tweeted earlier this week, adding: “Say 2 wisdom ‘U r my sister’& call insight your intimate friend, 2 keep u from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress w her smooth words."
As OK! magazine points out, many fans took Derick’s shocking tweets as an admission that he may have been unfaithful to Jill, with whom he shares two young sons.
"Hmm.... sounds like SOMEONE might have a GUILTY CONSCIENCE," one fan responded.
"Sounds like someone doth protest too much," another added.
A few fans even pointed out that Derick has recently been spending quite a bit of time on several college campuses.
"Those college girls teasing you?" one fan taunted.
While there’s no evidence to suggest that Derick was unfaithful to his wife, some fans think he could definitely be suffering from a guilty conscience.
