Looking for something a little out of the ordinary, but fast and easy to serve your guests?
Try an Oreo poke cake. All you need for this DIY Oreo cake is cake mix, pudding, and Oreos. You can make it fancier with raspberry garnish.
To make the pudding, mix 2 packages of vanilla pudding in a large bowl with 8 ounces of cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 3 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 8 ounces of Cool Whip, 1 package of Oreos, and 4 tablespoons of butter. Mix the cream cheese, butter and sugar first, then add the other ingredients until it is smooth.
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan, add eggs to the cake mix and stir into a batter, then pour into the pan.
It’s called a poke cake because after baking the cake you poke holes in a regular pattern throughout, and then layer the pudding over it.
After baking, use a ballpoint pen or a stick of similar size and shape to “poke” the cake. The pudding seeps into the cake, making it super moist and yummy. Crush Oreos and sprinkle on top for extra flavor and texture. The mix of moist, gooey pudding cake with crunchy cookies on top makes an irresistible dessert. This is a quick one, and fun to make!
