Today, January 14, 2013, one month after our nation was struck with the devastating news of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, comes a new hope for our future. The community of Newtown has gathered together and created the non-profit organization, Sandy Hook Promise, not only to honor the children and teachers who were taken from this tragedy, but also to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.

Sandy Hook Promise's goal is to reduce gun violence through, “education, outreach and grass-roots discussions,” in order to find and spread, "common sense solutions".

If you would like to help, donations can be made through the organization to help the families of the victims, survivors, teachers, as well as the other staff members in Newton, Connecticut.

Another way you can be a part of this positive change is to sign their pledge! It's a pledge about protecting our children and reducing gun violence.
