It’s been eight months since Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo got hitched, but they still haven’t announced a pregnancy.
In fact, despite numerous media outlets reporting that Jinger may already have a bun in the oven, she still shows absolutely no signs of being pregnant.
While most couples are still in the honeymoon stages during their first year of marriage, Jinger and Jeremy are not most couples.
As previously reported, the Duggars religiously follow the Quiverfull movement, meaning they truly believe women were put on this earth to procreate.
So, what gives? If the Duggars want nothing more in life than to have a million babies, why is Jinger’s womb still empty?
Though it’s entirely possible that the Vuolos have been desperately trying to conceive all year, The Hollywood Gossip has made a juicier suggestion.
Maybe, just maybe…Jinger is using birth control.
With 19 kids at home, it’s pretty obvious that Jim Bob and Michelle do not believe in birth control in any way, shape, or form.
According to reports, the couple even blamed a miscarriage early in their marriage on the fact that they had used birth control at one point.
But Jinger and Jeremy have already proven that they are veering away from the traditional rules and values set by Jim Bob and Michelle (but mostly Jim Bob).
For starters, Jeremy has absolutely no problem standing up to his father-in-law if need be, especially when it comes to their religious differences.
When Jeremy and Jinger were still courting, they even pushed the boundaries of the no-touching rule by getting a little handsy compared to Jinger’s siblings who had already courted in the past.
Also, Jinger wears pants and shorts—a practice we have not really seen from any of her sisters.
Wearing pants is strictly forbidden by women in the Duggar household, but when they get married, their husbands are allowed to make that decision for them.
In the past, Jeremy has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t care if Jinger wears pants, skirts, shorts, or dresses—it’s her choice.
“It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse,” he said.
Does that mean using birth control is her choice, too? Probably not. But perhaps she and Jeremy have decided to plan their own family on their own time.
And that’s OK…as long as they don’t tell Mom and Dad!
