In 2016, Paris Hilton is known for pretty much one thing—introducing us to Kim Kardashian.
It was really only 10 years ago that Paris brought Kim onto her reality show The Simple Life and ordered the so-called “Queen of the Closet Scene” to organize her massive closet.
Back then, the Hilton hotel heiress was literally everywhere, and Kim was nothing more than “a friend,” as she was described in many photos from 2006.
Then, just a few months after The Simple Life was cancelled in early 2007, E! brought us the crowned jewel of reality TV: Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Within just a few years, Kim Kardashian became one of the biggest stars in the world, arguably even bigger than her dear old friend was a decade ago.
We know now that Paris’ star power faded quickly, but nobody ever expected that she would actually disappear completely.
So What Happened to Paris Hilton?
After her BFF Nicole Richie cut ties with the hotel princess and became a mom, Paris basically just kept partying.
Once considered “famous for being famous,” Paris has actually established herself as a savvy businesswoman.
Not only is she now a sought after DJ, but her fragrances alone have reportedly earned about $2 billion around the world.
Unfortunately, all the money in the world hasn’t been able to keep this heiress out of trouble with the law.
After being arrested for suspicion of drunk driving in 2006, Paris ended up spending 23 days behind bars when she violated her probation.
In 2010, Paris was detained in South Africa for possession of marijuana, then arrested for possession of cocaine just a few weeks later.
Paris Hilton’s Life Today
Now 35, Paris recently revealed that she’s finally ready to put her partying days behind her.
"I like to see girls looking hot and having fun—that's what life's about," she told DuJour.com last year. "But I'm kinda over the whole scene. I used to love going out all the time but now it's only for DJ'ing and getting paid."
In the last decade, Paris has built quite a large fashion and lifestyle empire for herself, a direct contradiction to her “character” on The Simple Life all those years ago.
"I'm doing what I want," she said. "I don't really have time for a boyfriend."
