Whether it's lunchtime or dinnertime or just an awkward afternoon hour when you want a snack, this Quick & Easy Texas Toast Pizza recipe absolutely fits the occasion. It's easy to make, it's comfort food, and it's not as unhealthy as pizza delivery.
Michelle from Crafty Morning reassures that kids and adults alike will love this recipe, and even suggests to her fellow mothers, "I could see this at a play date with a topping bar, and in fact, I will probably be doing that soon." She adds, "If you want to make it a little healthier, make your own garlic bread using sliced french bread."
Here's how you can make it for yourself.
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Then, put however many Texas toasts you want on a baking sheet. Pop them into the oven and bake for 2 minutes on each side.
When you're done toasting them, remove from the oven and then top with canned pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and any other pizza topping you like. We love pepperoni!
Turn the oven onto broil, and toss your Texas toast pizzas back into the oven. Watch the cheese carefully so you can ensure it doesn't burn. It will probably take about 2-3 minutes for this to happen.
