She Cut Up Canned Biscuit Dough And Tossed It In A Slow Cooker With A Few Simple Ingredients To Make Easy Chicken And Dumplings

Dinner doesn’t get much easier than this! Just toss everyone in a slow cooker and in a few hours you’ll have this yummy classic to share with a crowd!

Making comfort food is even more rewarding of a meal when the process is simple and not time consuming.

That’s what makes this slow cooker chicken and dumplings recipe shared by Tonia from The Gunny Sack so great!

It’s the easiest recipe to follow, and the way it tastes speaks for itself -- it is so good!

“I’ve been making slow cooker chicken and dumplings for several years now,” Tonia wrote on her blog post about the recipe.

She decide to add a little twist to it by throwing in some cheese, garlic, and herbs, and the result is amazing!

To make it, Tonia starts in the morning of the day she wants this dish for dinner and throws cream of chicken soup, seasonings, garlic, and frozen chicken breasts into the slow cooker for about six hours until the meat is tender and easy to shred.

Then, about an hour before everyone gets hungry for dinner, Tonia shreds up the chicken.

In a separate bowl, she combines parmesan cheese with some garlic pepper.

Next comes the main attraction: the dumplings. These are the easiest dumplings you could ever find. To make them, the only thing Tonia uses is refrigerated biscuit dough!

“Cut each biscuit into four pieces and roll it in the parmesan mixture before placing on the liquid in the Crock-Pot,” Tonia wrote on her post.

After adding all the little biscuit pieces to the liquid in the slow cooker, she let it bake for one more hour until the dough was cooked through the centers.

Finally, she topped the cooked biscuits with some cheddar cheese and put the lid back on one final time until it had melted.

The result is a delicious, warm dinner that will make everyone’s bellies happy!

“Scoop into bowls and enjoy,” Tonia wrote. “We loved this kicked up version of slow cooker chicken and dumplings. The garlic and pepper really added to the flavor and it’s going to become a part of our regular menu.”
