Colder weather means it’s time to whip out all those Crock-Pot recipes you’ve been patiently waiting all summer to make!
One of the coziest and yummy dishes to enjoy for the start of fall is a simple roast!
Julie from Table For Two has the perfect, easiest recipe for what she calls a Mississippi roast.
“You need to make this ASAP,” Julie wrote on her blog post about the recipe. “Five simple ingredients, zero effort, 100 percent dinner & leftover satisfaction!”
The whole thing only requires four ingredients, which may surprise you at first, and is so delicious!
To make it, Julie started by pouring a little bit of water into the bottom of the slow cooker with her chunk of roast on top.
Then, on top of roast, she sprinkled a pack of dry ranch seasoning mix.
After adding that, she also poured a package of dry au jus mix on top.
Over everything went a whole stick of butter.
To finish it off, Julie also chose to throw in a few pepperoncinis around the sides of the roast to give it that extra flavor.
Once everything was added, she turned the slow cooker on and left it to cook for about eight hours.
When it was finished, she easily shredded up the meat and served it with some gravy!
“You can serve this with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables, or serve it on top of white/brown rice, or make a sandwich out of it,” Julie wrote.
She also added that you can easily throw in some veggies to the slow cooker to make dinner even easier!
“This roast is in-your-face-delish,” Julie wrote. “The flavors are incredible. Who would've thought that four pantry item ingredients would yield such an amazing roast? It’s go so much flavor and I could not stop hover over the slow cooker waiting for it to be done.”
