Here's how you can make it for your family — crispiness and all.

Melt 1 tablespoon butter (clarified butter if you're following the Whole 30 regimen) in the microwave, and then mix into 1 cup hot sauce. Feel free to pick your favorite!

Put 2 pounds chicken wings into your crock pot, then toss the hot sauce mixture on top. You might want to use a utensil to mix the wings around so they're evenly coated.

Cover the crock pot and cook on Low for 6-8 hours, or until the wings are fully cooked. You can feel free to dig in now — or you can line up all the wings on a lined baking sheet.

Stick the sheet under the broiler for about 3 minutes to crisp the outsides.

Toss all the wings in another ¼ cup hot sauce, then serve with a side of ranch dressing.
