This Simple Lemon Loaf is not to be underestimated because of its name. It's a breeze to make, but the taste and texture of the soft, buttery loaf makes it feel like it came from a bakery oven, instead of the one just in your own home.

Here's how you can make this fine pastry at home.

Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, then cream together with 1 cup white sugar.

Add 2 eggs, the zest of 1 lemon, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and a pinch of salt to the butter and sugar. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Then, add ½ cup milk. Stir again until combined.

Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and bake for an hour. While you wait, cut your zested lemon in half and juice ½ of it.

When the time is up, remove from the oven, then pour your lemon juice over the bread. You can also sprinkle on some powdered sugar if you'd like!
