She Wraps Yarn Around Her Fingers For HOURS! When She’s Done, It Creates Something Beautiful!

No sewing is required for this easy project and it turns out looking fantastic!

Set aside the sewing machine and put down the knitting needles because there’s a much easier way to create a gorgeous piece for your home without needing to have years of experience to do it.

If you’re looking for a new rug to add a little bit of coziness to your bathroom, bedroom, playroom, or living room… okay, really, in ANY room… this is the project for you.

Yeah, it sort of sounds like a cheesy infomercial speech, but this is the real deal. You can create your very own pom pom area rug only using yarn, scissors, and your two hands.

It’s super simple and only takes one cozy weekend in front of the TV to accomplish.

To start, take a trip to the store and pick up enough yarn, depending on what size you want the rug to be, in the colors that you want. That’s one of the greatest things about making a rug yourself: you get to choose exactly what shade of blue or green or grey you want to match the decor you already have.

When you get home from the store, it’s time to get going. Start by taking the yarn and wrapping it around three fingers until you get the size pom-pom that you wish. You can kind of tell how big it will be by seeing how thick the spool of yarn is on your fingers.

Once you have a good size, carefully slip the end of the yarn through the middle of the spool and tie a knot.

Then, slip it off your fingers and pull it tighter, knotting it one more time. Cut the string but leave a four or five inch tail -- you’ll need it later.

The next step is to cut the little ball so that it frays out in all directions.

It should look something like this. If pieces of yarn went everywhere, something went wrong in the cutting process.

After you have a little fuzzy ball, trim the fray down so that it’s all even. There’s no right or wrong way to do this step. It’s all based on personal preference.

When you’re done, repeat that step until you have enough pom poms to make your rug. Then, start tying them to each other using the tail you made earlier.

This is the easiest part, and you can make it into any shape…

and any pattern you want!

It will turn out so cozy and cute!
