20-year-old Devin Katzfey, 19-year-old Brendan Katzfey, and 20-year-old Sarah Zakzesky are each charged with first-degree reckless homicide after their collaborated murder of 19-year-old Delvin Mendoza-Chaparro, as reported by New York Daily News.
The three suspects are now in custody at Milkwaukee County Jail with their bonds set at $200,500, $100,000, and $50,000 for the two Katzfeys and Zakzesky, respectively.
According to Zakzesky, Mendoza-Chaparro tried to steal marijuana paraphernalia while the four people were smoking at her apartment. Although the victim denied it, the elder Katzfey insisted on accusing him of stealing.
Investigators managed to make the three confess. The younger Katzfey confessed that he “urinated on [Mendoza-Chaparro] while he lay near a kitty box” and the elder brother “forced [Mendoza-Chaparro] to eat cat litter and feces from the litter box.
All of the horrible things the three suspects did to the victim were documented via Snapchat.
In a series of video clips, Devin can be heard saying, “This is what happens when you steal… You got knocked the f---k out, b---h. Don’t ever come and steal.”
According to the complaint, Zakzesky ordered the two to take Mendoza-Chaparro’s body out of her apartment. It said, “She kept telling Devin Katzfey that they need to take the victim to the hospital but he said no.”
Then, the brothers took him to the alley where “the victim then fell over in a snow bank by some garbage cans,” according to the complaint.
The complaint also said, “Zakzesky further agreed that it was cold enough that someone could freeze to death… She then left him there.”
The suspects used Mendoza-Chaparro’s phone and his Snapchat account to take videos and humiliate him to his followers. The Snapchat videos gave the three suspects away, according to the investigators.
According to NY Daily News, the victim was only wearing a Marquette University hoodie while his pair of jeans were pull down to his ankles and no footwear.
